As late as 1709, after many failures, European chemist got the authentic porcelain (kaolin, quartz and felspar), and although all of them tried to keep the secret of the formula, it quickly was spread throughout Europe and so, between the 18th and 19th centuries, there were companies all over the continent: Meissen in Germany, Sévres in France...Buen Retiro in Spain.
